For over three decades the Lark Musical Society has enriched Los Angeles audiences with offerings of Classical and Armenian folk music – organizing innumerable events, promoting the arts, and fostering community. Our guiding belief is that by drawing from our past, we can cultivate our present and better shape our future. This philosophy has focused our efforts to embrace and promote the dual heritages of the Western Classical tradition alongside the rich traditions of Armenian culture. We firmly believe that understanding our roots allows us to build on the shoulders of giants.
Central to Lark’s mission is the education and development of youth – exposing them to a wealth of cultural influences, encouraging an artistic mind-frame, and challenging them to acquire the skills to operate both as leaders and within the ensemble. By expanding their horizons, we believe they will bring positive change to their communities and beyond. While musicianship remains Lark’s cornerstone, we have broadened our scope over the years to include many other expressive mediums, making Lark a hub for diverse artists.
Despite the challenges we face as a non-profit, our passionate commitment to preserving cultural identity and engaging intimately with music fuels our efforts, and we deeply appreciate your support in this communal endeavor.
